Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts will be selected for oral or E-poster presentations depending on the number and quality of abstracts received.
Accepted videos and photos will be presented digitally.
Important Note
Abstract submissions Deadline 30 July 2026
Any abstract received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Upon completion of the evaluation, an “Accepted” or “Rejected” message will be sent to the authors by email.
The final way on how abstracts will be presented is a scientific committee decision.
Abstracts submitted as a Case Report may be accepted as a Poster.
General Guidelines
- Carefully follow all the instructions posted on the website for abstract submission.
- Abstracts must be submitted online.
- All abstracts must be written in English.
- The presenting author must be the First submitting Author.
- The presenting author must ensure all co-authors are aware of the content and submission.
- If the abstract is accepted, the same work must be presented with the same title and content.
- The financial disclosure of the author should be declared at submission and presentation.
- All required fields must be filled out for successful submission.
- All presenters are required to register for SOS 2026 and pay all applicable fees.
- SOS 2026 does not pay honoraria, travel, or housing expenses for presenters.

1. Free Paper Submission Guidelines
- If submitting more than one free paper, each must be submitted separately.
- All abstracts must be written in English.
- Complete each author’s full name and First Author contact information.
- Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the First Author.
Abstract Guidelines
- Title must not exceed 60 characters.
- Abstract should include Background/Objectives, Design and Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
- All abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
- Abbreviations must be written in full when first used.
- Financial disclosure must be declared.
Presentation Guidelines
- Free Paper must be uploaded as Portrait PowerPoint files: PPT or PPTX only.
- Font should be no smaller than 18 points.
- Use clear headings and leave spaces between sections.
- Pictures and graphics should be clearly labelled and high quality.
- Do not fit too much information on one slide.
2. E-Posters Submission Guidelines
E-Poster is an electronic version of the traditional boards and is displayed on the e-poster and video kiosks.
It may include text, figures, tables and images but no video or animations.
- Abstracts are to be submitted online only.
- Electronic Posters must be uploaded as Portrait PowerPoint files: PPT or PPTX only.
- Maximum of 12 PowerPoint slides and maximum file size of 50 MB.
- Font should be no smaller than 18 points.
- E-Posters should contain no video clips or animation files.
- References should be mentioned in the E-poster.
3. Instructional Courses / Workshops
- Courses and workshops on any field of Ophthalmology will be considered.
- Each abstract must be submitted separately.
- Title must not exceed 60 characters.
- Body should not exceed 300 words.
- Requested duration: 30, 40, or 60 minutes.
4. Surgical Videos Submission Guidelines
- Videos on any aspect of ophthalmic surgery will be considered.
- The video should start with the name of the society and author(s).
- Duration should not exceed five minutes.
- Video format: 16:9 ratio, 1080P resolution, .m4v, .mp4 or .mov.
- The video must include audio narration.
5. Clinical Photos Submission Guidelines
High-quality ophthalmic images may be selected to be exhibited in SOS 2026 and displayed in the photo gallery areas.
- Submit a brief description of images.
- Mention the tool used without mentioning the company name.
- Mention the date of taking the images.
